In May 2011, The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Art Program was presented with an opportunity to facilitate a new public art project ("Art Project") in collaboration with the Facilities Development Department (FDD) Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Expansion of the Terminal 2 East Facilities. The public art opportunity consisted of a ceiling node designated in an area called the "Y" where the concourse splits into two diverging directions. The Authority entered into an agreement with an artist for the design, fabrication, and installation of a public art project for the aforementioned site on May 9, 2012. Contractor must provide a certified electrician, licensed by the State of California (C10 License), to design electrical systems, inspect electrical systems, and perform all electrical installations.
3. Fabrication of art glass diffuser elements per approved specifications. Contractor must provide a skilled decorative glass manufacturer to reproduce the previously approved design.
